About Us

Samantha Joyce BA (Hons) launched The Galium Garden in the spring of 2005, relocating to the South West after many years of working alongside her business partner, the tv gardener, Joe Swift, at their Islington design practise, The Plant Room.
Having studied landscaping at Capel Manor, Sam went on to gain a first class honours degree in garden design at Middlesex University. She was involved in the design and construction of gold winning gardens at the Chelsea and Hampton Court flower shows. In 2003 Sam designed six of the eight gardens featured in the Alan Titchmarsh series “How to be a gardener”. She also co-designed the Hampshire garden featured in the BBC 2 programme “The gardener’s year” presented by Alan Titchmarsh.
